Register for London GI PATHOLOGY Update

The London GI PATHOLOGY Update 2026 returns as a four-day hybrid educational course, following the successful similar event in 2025, and will run from Tuesday 28th April to Friday 1st May 2026 at the Barbican Centre in London. Speakers will cover multiple different topics in Gastrointestinal and Hepatopancreatobiliary Pathology.

There are three options for delegates: in-person attendance, live streams or recordings. Registration for any combination of days is possible.

There is a superb faculty comprising previous and new participants from the UK, Europe and the USA. The speakers are engaging, enthusiastic individuals. They will deliver excellent and comprehensive talks that focus on diagnostic pathology and include relevant updates and recent advances.

Jason Hornick – Brigham and Women’s Hospital,
Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA

Dr Hornick is the Director of Surgical Pathology and Immunohistochemistry and Chief of Soft Tissue and Bone Pathology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School, the Mass General Brigham Endowed Cancer Chair, and a consultant at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Hornick is President of the Arthur Purdy Stout Society and President-Elect of the USCAP.

Dr Nicole Panarelli

Nicole C. Panarelli, MD, is Chief of GI and Liver Pathology and Vice Chair of Education and Faculty Development at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York, NY.  Dr. Panarelli completed her residency in anatomic pathology followed by a fellowship in gastrointestinal and liver pathology at Weill Cornell Medicine and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is an Associate Editor for Modern Pathology and a Section Editor for Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Dr. Panarelli is Past-President of the Rodger C. Haggitt Gastrointestinal Pathology Society, Treasurer of the Arthur Purdy Stout Society of Surgical Pathologists, and a member of the USCAP Education Committee. She was an author of the AFIP Fascicle on Non-neoplastic Disorders of the Gastrointestinal Tract and has contributed chapters to Odze and Goldblum Surgical Pathology of the GI Tract, Liver, Biliary Tract and Pancreas, Histology for Pathologists, and Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology in the Foundations in Pathology series. Dr. Panarelli’s research focuses on practice improvement in diagnostic GI pathology.

Nick West is Professor of Gastrointestinal Pathology and Head of the Division of Pathology & Data Analytics at the University of Leeds. He is also Consultant Histopathologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and clinical lead for pathology at the North East and Yorkshire Genomic Laboratory Hub. He is the lead pathologist for 13 colorectal cancer clinical trials and runs a translational research laboratory focussing on specimen quality, tumour morphology, genomic biomarkers and digital pathology/AI.

Adrian Bateman - Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust, Southampton, UK

Professor Adrian Bateman has been a Consultant Histopathologist in Southampton since 1997. He specialises almost entirely in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary-pancreatic pathology and also has an interest in IgG4-related disease. He has a particular interest in colorectal neoplasia. He is the Lead Pathologist for the English Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) and the coordinator of the English BCSP Pathology Expert Board. He is the Lead Editor for the 6th edition of Morson and Dawson’s Gastrointestinal Pathology and the Editor-in-Chief of Diagnostic Histopathology. He is the Chair of the Royal College of Pathologists Cellular Pathology Specialty Advisory Committee.

+ Are there Discounts for multi-day registrations?

YES, the more days you register for, the greater the discount.

10% for 2 days, 15% for 3 days and 20% for 4 days. You can mix Virtual and In Person as desired. If you are a Trainee or a Biomedical Scientist then you can use the Concession registration rate. So you register for all four days at Early Bird Pricing you will receive 40% discount in total.

+ Will the event be live-streamed?

YES, not only will the event be livestreamed on all three days but for both 'In Person' and 'Virtual' delegates there will be access to high quality recordings shortly after the event. These recordings will be available for three months.

+ Will the event be recorded?

YES, following the event, delegates who attended 'In Person' or 'Virtually' and who provide feedback will receive a Certificate of Participation shortly after the event. This will be in PDF form and be delivered via email the week following the Course.
